Dir en Grey
“yokosou ni dreambox” aruiwa seijuku no rinen to tsumetai ame
finally got around to download dir en grey’s “dum spiro spero” this morning and was listening to it during landscape painting class. I thought it was a bad idea at first to listen to dir en grey while i was trying to concentrate on painting, but surprisingly, i found it to be very soothing….almost like a mantra.
I feel like i have really fallen in love with this album. It’s very beautiful, and kyo’s sensitive, yet sorrowful and terrifying sense of storytelling has never been better. i really feel like Dir en Grey is getting more and more abstract as the years pass. It is a bit difficult to listen to at first because it is hard to understand, and i think people who were fans of their older music (ie: vulgar/withering to death period) tend to dismiss their newer songs because of it, but It is not until you REALLY sit down and soak it in that you can feel it’s brilliance….
